The psychological effect of colors on humans is today scientifically and therapeutically undisputed.
Colors are a part of our lives, our everyday life and they represent in countless variations on countless occasions our taste, our emotions and our identity.
For centuries, different cultures have known about the psychological and physical healing effects of colors on the human condition. Today, advertising agencies, designers, interior decorators and many other professions in which colors play a role pay close attention to choosing the right color scheme for a product or campaign in order to convey appropriate feelings, associations and additional messages to the viewer.
Hypnosis now offers new innovative and highly effective ways to integrate color therapy into the therapeutic repertoire in a meaningful and practical way, to achieve additional intensity.
Hypnosis and color therapy closely related?
The latest results from hypnosis research / brain research have shown that in hypnosis the brain areas in which color perception is processed are particularly active. Hypnotherapists know this: Many clients "see colors" during a hypnosis session, i.e. they see colored light, colored furniture and other objects. These phenomena are due to the activation of those very areas of the brain that process colors, but can also generate them internally and make our imaginations colorful.
During Hypnotherapy sessions I pay close attention to every color the client describes to me. Once a color is worth mentioning to the client, we figure out where in the body that particular color is felt, grow the feeling and circle back to the origin and therefore connection the color has to a certain event/emotion they experienced in their life.
In addition, different colors stimulate different emotional states. From deep inner calm to massive energization, the use of colors can specifically influence the inner experience of a client.
Clients like to work with colors
Experience from my own practices has shown that almost all clients can very quickly establish an emotional connection with colors and like to find out the reason behind it.
Colors can be used to create inner peace in clients, to relieve pain, to improve wound healing or healing of infections, to increase mood and drive, to balance the hormonal system, even in sex therapy colors can bring great benefits.
Colors can also be identified as triggers and used to locate and release small traumata and its energies.
The good thing is: the client feels quite clearly which colors are good for him and which ones trigger a negative reaction in him (although even colors perceived as negative can sometimes be very useful, as they can also trigger activities inside that may be underrepresented) and colors, although they can be very intense especially in hypnotic trance, are still gentle enough that they can be safely tested to see how they can help the client.
For clients with emotional problems, certain colors can bring out inner images or trigger causes.
What are your colors?
